Hubby's Hair

Normally, I cut Hubby's hair every other week. Sometimes it gets a little long and when it does, Hubby gets creative. This is what happens when you let Hubby choose his own haircut.

003
Stage 1: I want a mohawk.

002
Me: Okay.
*Rolls eyes, makes crooked so he can't keep it*

004
Stage 2: I want fake cornrows.

(Have you SEEN those blue eyes? Could you say no to those? Heaven help me if our children end up with those. I'll never be able to say no.)

005
Me: Okay

*Makes crooked again*

In the end, I did finish shaving his hair off. Next time I don't want to cut his hair before it gets too long, remind me of these pictures and I will hustle to do it.

Goin' To The Fair!

Well...seven of us went to the fair last night. It was a long evening with lots of meandering and a ton of fun! I'm mostly going to post pictures because it captures the evening so much better than words.

143
Pure bliss. Sister K wanted cotton candy all day long so she got it as soon as we walked in the gate.

144
Hubby stole a little from Sister K. It's ok, she still had plenty to eat.

155
Sister K wanted to ride the swings so we did. I haven't done that in many many years!

207
Sister K and I climbed up on this bear. Years ago we took a picture similar to this. I do not have it though. I'm thinking our dad has it.

236
Yep, I bungee jumped 130ft at the fair. I'm nuts. Totally crazy.

282
Sister K's first ride on the Ferris Wheel. Too bad it came out blurry!

295
We always get one of us on the Ferris Wheel. It's just what we do.

Sister K and Lagoon Valley

Sister K got to stay longer and I told her that if she did, we would go to Lagoon Valley. I know that sounds like a bribe but it wasn't. Today, we went for that ride.

024

051

It was a tad breezy...

061

Sister K led the two new horses across the bridge. What a pro!

It wasn't too hot, we had a nice breeze, and we had no incidents!

A Bunch of Little Things

I have a bunch of little big things to talk about and I had decided to do a list. Then, I went over to Pioneer Woman and she had done the same thing. I had the idea before I saw her list, honest. Maybe I'll scrap my list...or not.

1. Remember all that stuff we were talking about yesterday about my little bitty sister and her being able to saddle her own horse and everything? Well, I got Hubby to take pictures of the event so that I would have something to show you. Ta da! I love when I can satisfy my readers. Especially if I don't have to do any work.

002-2

012-4

014-5

029-3

2. I got a very important call yesterday and as of July 23rd I will be gainfully employed. Finally. I've been praying hard for this job and so has everyone else. Today I fill out paperwork.

3. Sister K is staying until Thursday now because she wants to and I have time before work starts.

4. Hubby is off work today and I am glad. He has a pork roast to get to for pulled pork and carnitas. Yum.

5. Our little puggle puppy Honey has had terrible diarrhea for the last two days...which is why I was awake at the ungodly hour of 4:30.

6. Yes I know, some people get up at that time all the time like my MIL J but I'm not one of them. Period.

7. My English saddle is finally outfitted for riding. I rode in it last night. I'm having trouble getting my stirrups just right.

8. I can't wait to get the cavalettis Hubby made for me up and going so I can work on my riding.

9. That's why I got the English saddle, in order to better my own riding. That and I miss the feeling of flying.

10. I got up at 4:30. I said that already? Well, I'm tired so I can't remember. I got up at 4:30 you know.

11. 6am smells really good out in the country.

12. Yes, I just did an odd number on a list. It's my way of overcoming OCD.

13. I can't stand to watch the wok man at the wok place cook my food because they mess it up before putting it back together. I cringe.

14. But I'm not crazy OCD. Just a little.

15. Oh look at that, I managed to arrive at a good number... Totally an accident.

And now for something completely different.

036-2
Really Hubby? A picture of ME getting on my horse?

041-2
Sister K, what are you looking at?

045-2
She insisted I was going to make her fall off. As if.

052-2
See ya later Hubby!

When did this happen?

My sister, my little bitty Sister K who not 6 days ago was this:

028

Too scared to get close. Shaking while getting on.

And this:

041

Ponied and completely lacking in knowledge.

Has become this:

016-3

Riding comfortably on her own and looking pretty good doing it. *Tear*

Better yet. This little punk of a sister is now able to do all of the following:

Catch
Tie
Brush
Saddle
Bridle
Get On (without a mounting block)
Walk
Trot
Canter
Post On

Her own horse. Every day, we do something harder or more fine-tuned than the day before. Imagine what will happen tonight!
