Ma'am, Sir Henry Has Arrived

"Ma'am, Sir Henry has arrived." "Why thank you Jeeves..." Henry has finally arrived. After his long, cross-state trip, Henry has finally made his way to our house. I took a lot of pictures and have learned one major thing:

My camera does NOT like working at night. It has a horrible time focusing. Working Man will probably buy me a new one because he got annoyed too. *Happy Dance* Ah, probably not. After all, how often do I shoot at night?...never.

Anyway, Henry. He arrived, safe and sound. He got one scrape on his butt (bum?) from the trip but (bum? Oh no, that really is supposed to be but) a little antiseptic ointment (Henry was NOT amused) and all was well. Better pictures will come tomorrow, but these are a start. See above for why there are not more/better photos.

And like a kid at Christmas, I couldn't wait to unwrap my gift, I just HAD to ride him. I was going to just jump on him bareback but Working Man, ever the protective one, insisted on saddling him..."just in case". I indulge him so (and I love it so...he'd never let anyone/anything hurt me).

Oh right, pictures.

The ears!!!

069-2
His eye, no joke, as big as my palm...seriously.

072
Poor boy was hungry! How is a 1600 pound mule to survive?!

076-2
Biiiiig boy. Haven't measured his height/weight yet. Maybe tomorrow.

086
He's big...and lumbering...I even said I was ready to get on my elephant now. He is that big...ok, maybe a little exaggeration on my part...but I think it's allowed here.

092-2
And you still think "elephant" was going too far?...That's what I thought.

096-2
I can speak for Working Man...and probably Henry too...neither of them were inebriated at the time this photo was taken. Just tired. It's been a long day for us all.

Time to collapse into bed with Working Man.

Adventures in Laundry Land

Every week, we do laundry. For the last two years I've discovered things being left in pockets...generally in the dryer. What? You thought I actually went through our pockets? Hahaha, definitely not. At any rate, being married to a working man means I find more than the usual coins in my dryer. I find things that REALLY don't belong in a dryer.

032-3
By far, the most expensive item found in the dryer. Yes, this is an old-school iPod mini. Still works though!

033-3
Found this one yesterday, this is Working Man's leftovers.

034-2
Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't found this in the dryer more. Working Man carries this in his pants at all times. Maybe that's why I haven't found it more often, Working Man doesn't leave it anywhere.

035
These are my own leaving. I gotta have my ear plugs or else I wake up for every movement of my dogs.

036
Not uncommon, who hasn't found change while doing the laundry?

037-3
One of the horse's bridle tags. Fell off while I was putting the bridle on and I never put it back on...and apparently I put it in my pocket...for the dryer...

038-2
Cash...of course. That's a happy find.

041-2
Receipts. Although Working Man is very good about giving me receipts for our budget, occasionally I put them in my pocket...and occasionally forget they are there...okay, so maybe it's more than occasionally.

042-2
Working Man has the ability to bend beer caps...then he puts them in his pockets.

044-2
More of Working Man's remnants.

040-3
Last but not least, the worst of the finds: hay. I find hay everywhere, all the time, everytime. Something about living on a ranch means we have hay in all of our clothing...this is what's left in the dryer, you don't even want to see how much gets caught in the lint trap!

What's the strangest thing you've found in your dryer?

The Geese

The geese are flying south for the winter. I'm glad their internal calendars are working...it's supposed to be 103 today.

019-2

This is not one of the geese flying south. This is one of our geese. He won't be going anywhere...He'll be here, in spite of the cold...with a frozen pond. Actually, the pond only freezes occasionally.

Monday...

Normally I love going back to work. Normally, I would have had a day off with lots of rest and maybe some chores. This weekend wasn't normally...I spent my Sunday either walking around or driving. I'm exhausted...this is my face this morning now that it's Monday and I didn't get my day off.

Please don't make me go. I wish to sleep.

Alas, I will go anyway because I will be sad if I don't catch up on the patients in hospital. I'm attached to some of them...

Nothing but...Butt

Tonight, under the light of the moon and the waning light of the sun, I rode my boy. It's been so long since I've done so. With nothing more than a bridle and my own butt, I jumped my boy several times. No pictures but Hubby was nice enough to get one with his phone before I left.

He was such a good boy...Oddly, I felt more comfortable jumping bareback than in a saddle. My butt protests though...strongly...and will probably protest for a few days. Ow.
