The one where the day was cold...

I guess it's not really the only day that was cold. We have a lot of those. I know, I know, those of you in the mid-west and east etc...you all have snow and whose fault is that? You're the one who decided to live there. I chose California. Mild weather for the win! But in the winter...it gets cold. Yesterday I woke up...to this:

008

009

010
All the frost on the grass. What, you can't see it?

011-2
A little better? That's the grate in our fire pit.

014-2
Fuzzy grass.

017-2
I froze for you. Really I did.

Well, this morning. No frost, it was only 40 degrees outside and it was all cloud cover. I'm grateful because our heater is broken for now. Working Man figured out what was wrong with it but there were no part stores open last night. As such...we were chilly last night. And today. I'm looking forward to sticking my face in the carrots I'm steaming right now.

The one who is camera shy...

Everyone wonders why I don't have pictures of Lucy. I do, but they're few and far between. Unlike Honey, Lucy is very camera shy. She spends her days dodging my lens. I did manage to catch these:

053

054

057
Count the legs you see here and win a prize! Well, not really.

063
Ear flapping...

064
It runs in the family.

067
I love you Lucy girl! Mommy is only half sorry she tortured you.

Honey and Her Toys

When I'm playing with Honey, she loves to grab something, anything at all, and run with it like she shouldn't have it. Sometimes, it really is something she shouldn't have. When I took these photos, she was trying to go after rocks, dried bird poop, more rocks.... Every time she picks up something she shouldn't have, I give her a very distinct "uh-uh" sound, one which I learned from my mom (and one which ALL of my animals know), and she drops it and hunts for something else. Unless it's food. If it's food, no amount of noises is going to stop her. She's taking it and running.

Finally, she located a toy. I love to watch Honey with toys because she runs so fast and wild and usually the toy is larger than she is. So here's some more Honey Gone Wild, this time with a tug of war toy.

027

She has just picked up the toy and off she goes!

028

This day was very cold and cloudy, as such a lot of these pictures are blurry. I couldn't use a flash, it just wasn't going to do anything. Without it, my shutter speed was slow, even set on sports. *Sigh*

029

We'll call it artistic blur. Not shown: FFR turning around wildly while snapping pictures and getting dizzy.

033

This really IS artistic blur...but not intentional on my behalf. Keeping it, that was intentional.

040

I did say it was cold. And I was outside. In short sleeves. And in my requisite flip flops.

Maybe I've gone a little wild,

Crazy Honey

So we've seen Honey in so many forms. She's been dressed up, dressed down, rough housed, pretty, growling...just about anything you can think of, Honey has been seen and photographed. Well now we've got Honey going crazy...again. For probably the hundredth time.

041

Here's Honey. She's cute, sweet, and I love her in B&W High Contrast. It just brings out the black points of her face.

But what you're not seeing are the moments before this sweet face got her photo taken. Side effects from the following post may include: laughter, confusion, tears, and wishing you had a puppy. Please go to your local animal shelter and rescue a puppy if the last symptom persists for more than 24 hours. The moments that follow include but are not limited to:

016

Falling over...

017

Skidding...

024

Ear flapping...

025

And general skidaddlery.

And let's not forget:

026

Levitation!

Happy Saturday all, I hope these side effects weren't too much to handle. See you tomorrow!

FYI: No dogs were harmed in the taking of these photos

Watching Sadie and Honey play, it almost looks like they're actually going to hurt each other. So I disclose to you now that no dogs were hurt while I took these pictures. Do you honestly think I would stand idly by with my camera while someone was getting hurt? I wouldn't...but I'd consider it. Just for a moment. If they were really getting hurt, I wouldn't even consider it...I think.

012

013

014
This last one...it makes me laugh. I love how determined Honey is to get her tongue out there.
