We're going to have a serious post today. Just something I've been thinking of. I just want to talk today.
When I was a kid, nothing was impossible. Even if it was "impossible" it was never outside the realm of possibility. Like driving 65mph would take us 70 miles in an hour instead of 65. That kind of impossible. A lot of other impossibles too. I always thought that even if someone said it couldn't be done, my mom and I could make it happen. I think that's because most of the time, she made stuff happen. Anyone else have moms like that? Who magically make stuff happen? We were never rich, we lived on a strict budget but still, we had the horses. That's a crazy expensive hobby! For me, the impossible never existed because my mom would just...make it happen.
As I've gotten older, I've gotten more jaded, like I'm sure a lot of you have experienced. The realm of impossible is so much bigger than it was. There's mathematically impossible, there's unrealistically impossible...so many different impossibilities. Still, I'd like to think that I spend less time living in "impossible" than "possible". I don't know how a lot of stuff gets done, I don't know how Working Man and I manage to pull some things off but...there it goes again. It's technically impossible, but it works still.
So many things I've seen us manage to pull through, through the impossible. I try not to dwell on things too much and leave possibility open. I can stress all I want about something that simply can't happen, or I can sit back and watch it happen. The latter is far more fun. It never fails to leave me stunned that it worked, that the impossible became possible. History is full of "impossible" odds. Yet, we are still surprised that we should see the "impossible" happening in our own little worlds.
All of us just need to have a little more faith is all. Just because we're all aware of the odds and all aware that 2+2=4, doesn't mean that reality doesn't sometimes get a nudge and 2+2=5. I'll continue living every day with faith and hope that it grows and eventually reaches the point it was when I was a kid. I haven't been disappointed yet.
What could you have a little more faith for today?
Pondering,
FFR
anything and everything is possible....it will just happen on its own time and not ours. It's when we want it on our time that is becomes impossible and then unbearable and so we give up on it and walk away. I'm with you sista, just keepin the faith!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI look back on some of the things we did and wonder still how we ever did it all. lol. Thank goodness for Top Ramen 5lb bags of rice and the day old bakery oh and all the soda cans from the stables to turn into extra cash. Somehow we managed some pretty cool vacations. A lot of work and a lot of couponing. I know you definitely know how to budget money.
