Okey dokey artichoke-y

About a year ago, we planted a couple of artichoke plants as a complete shot in the dark. We didn't think we had the climate to grow them but figured we'd give it a try. Just the other day, I found a lot of artichokes on these two plants. How exciting!

There's probably 12-15 on this plant alone.

Aren't they beautiful?

I'm looking forward to eating them.

You'll notice the picture of this second plant is far away. It's because of the weeds.

See? Giant weeds. I didn't want to walk through those.

Plus, I was in my standard flip flops...not good for weed walking.

  1. A good recipe for artichokes.
Steam couple of artichokes until they are tender and edible.
Prepare a very simple dip from
    One cup Duke's mayonnaise
    One Tablespoon fresh Lemon Juice
One Tablespoon (+ or - according to taste) curry powder.
Mix these ingredients together and pull off the leaves of the artichoke and dip. I assume you know how to "scrap" the meaty part of the artichoke between your teeth and discard the tough, rine part.
It's very good and my favorite way to have artichokes.
Hugs to Ashleigh plus another "Poke"
